Steps to Setup SBCGlobal.Net Email Account on Android Phone Using Incoming IMAP and Outgoing SMTP Server Settings

  1. Tap on the Mail icon on your application menu screen. Enter your email address and password in the prompted field and select Manual Setup

  1. Next, you will need to select the IMAP option and make sure to enter the following settings in the relevant field and click on the Next

  • IMAP Server:mail.att.net
  • Security Type: None
  • Port: 993 (for IMAP)
    • Secure – Port: 993
    • Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
    • Insecure – Port: 143
    • Security Type: None (Accept all certificates)

  1. Then, you will need to enter the below-mentioned Outgoing SMTP settings and tap on the Next
  • SMTP Server: smtp.mail.att.net
  • Security Type: None
  • Port: 465 (for Outgoing SMTP)
    • Outgoing (SMTP) Secure – Port: 465
    • Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
    • Outgoing (SMTP roaming server) Secure – Port: 587
    • Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
    • Outgoing (SMTP) – Port: 25
    • Security Type: None (Accept all certificates)
    • Outgoing (SMTP roaming server): Insecure – Port: 587
    • Security Type: None (Accept all certificates)

  1. After that, tap on the Done option and you are done configuring your SBCGlobal.Net Email on Android phone.

Steps to Setup SBCGlobal.Net Email Account on iOS (iPhone) Using Incoming IMAP and Outgoing SMTP Server Settings

  • On your iPhone, go to the application menu and tap on the Settings app icon.
  • On the Settings screen of your iPhone, tap on the Mail option.

  • Next, you will need to select the Accounts options

  • Then, tap on the “Other” option from the menu on the next screen.

  • Under the Add Account section, select Add Mail Account option.

  • On the next Screen, you will need to enter your Name, Email, & Password, and then click on the Next button.

  • Then, you will need to select the IMAP option and enter the following information in the relevant fields:
  • Make sure that your Username is the full email address.
  • Username and Password will be the same for both Incoming & Outgoing servers.
  • Incoming Mail Server Host Name:mail.att.net
  • Outgoing Mail Server Host Name:mail.att.net

  • On the next screen, you may be prompt to verify the incoming and outgoing servers. So, you will need to tap on the “Continue” button and tap on the “Details” and then tap on the “Trust” option.

  • After that, tap on the Save option.

  • Now, select the new account that you created.

  • Then, select the SMTP server, verify the SMTP settings and tap on the Done button.

  • Username: Complete SBCGlobal.NET email address
  • Password: Your email account password
  • Use SSL: On

NOTE: You can turn it off and use the correct Port number as below

  • Outgoing (SMTP) Secure – Port: 465
  • Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
  • Outgoing (SMTP roaming server) Secure – Port: 587
  • Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
  • Outgoing (SMTP) – Port: 25
  • Security Type: None (Accept all certificates)
  • Outgoing (SMTP roaming server) Insecure – Port: 587
  • Security Type: None (Accept all certificates)
  • Authentication: Password
  • Server Port: 465

After you are done entering the above-mentioned information, you can access your SBCGlobal.Net email account on your iOS (iPhone).

Steps to Setup SBCGlobal.Net Email Account on Outlook Using Incoming IMAP and Outgoing SMTP Server Settings

  • On your computer, open Outlook email program and click on the File option located on the top-left corner of the window. Under File, you will need to select Account Settings under the Info tab.

  • Outgoing Port(SMTP): 465 or 587
  • General settings for POP
    • Secure – Port: 995 and Security Type: SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
    • Insecure – Port: 110

  • Not Selected: This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
  • Use the following type of encrypted connection: None

NOTE: If you are using Secure SSL /TLS Settings, you will need to select the checkbox next to “This service requires a secure connection (SSL)” in both Outgoing and Incoming emails.
