How to Fix Skype Crash Issues Windows 10?

Skype is a great communication application exploited by business users and individuals alike all over the world. The program is known for offering uninterrupted messaging, voice/video calling services, group calling, file sharing, and many other services. Although Skype functions flawlessly across various operating systems, some users face Skype crashing issue when trying to use Skype on their Windows 10 system.   1. To make Skype work on your Windows 10 computer, you will first need to delete the application data files of your Skype application from your system. For this, you will need to go to the Users folder under C Drive and locate the App Data folder in it.

NOTE: In case you are not able to find the App Data folder, it might be hidden in your system. To unhide it, you will need to go to the File > Option > View option. Next, you will need to select Show hidden files, folders, and drives option under the View tab. Then, click on the Apply button, the App Data folder will appear under the Users folder.

  1. Now, under App Data, you will need to click on the Roaming folder and choose Skype Then, simply delete all the files from this folder.
  2. After that, you will need to re-install the latest version of Skype on your Windows 10 and restart your system. After the successful installation, open the Skype and log in using your Microsoft credential. The crashing issue should get fixed on your system.
  3. Additionally, it is recommended to always keep your Skype program up-to-date with the latest version installed. To know about the availability of updates, click on the Help tab located next to the Tools option on the top bar. Then, select Check for “updates” option under the Help tab to know whether an update is available or not.
  4. Also, it is recommended to regularly scan your desktop for any sort of malicious virus. Use a good antivirus program to scan your system and keep the driver software up-to-date. To know the status of Skype, you will need to check the Skype Status @ https://support.skype.com/en/status/. On this page, you will see a list of options with a functioning status icon located on the right-hand side of each option. If you see green color “right tick” icon next to each option, this means that Skype is functioning properly. In case you don’t see the “right-click” icon next to any options, it means Skype is experiencing an issue with that particular option. You will need to wait until the sign turns to “right-tick” to use that particular option in your Skype program.
